The CIJ Awards have gained quite a reputation and are considered by many the Academy Awards of the Czech real estate world. Therefore, we are truly very proud that CBRE has repeatedly won.
CBRE triumphed in two categories of the prestigious CIJ Awards Czech Republic 2018. CBRE Advisory & Transaction – Office won the category Best Office Power Broker Team and the renovation project of the shopping centre OC Letňany finished first in the category Best Commercial Real Estate Refurbishment.
CBRE is the leading facilitator of office real estate leases in the Czech Republic for a consecutive number of years. In 2016, CBRE’s market share in the segment reached 36 %. In 2017, the share decreased to 30 %, but after three quarters of 2018, CBRE’s market leading share is at 40 %. “The key to our team’s success is the fact we offer a wide range of integrated services which doesn’t only include finding the optimal office space and facilitating advantageous lease conditions. We also offer assistance with creation and implementation of work space strategies including services such as project proposal, change management, project management of construction modification or management of the entire moving process. Our complete portfolio of project management services was provided to clients such as Anect, Johnson & Johnson or Bank of Communications China,” says Helena Hurábová, Head of CBRE Advisory & Transaction – Office, whose team finished first in the category Best Office Power Broker Team of this year’s CIJ Awards Czech Republic.
CBRE also offers integrated services including tenant negotiation as well as property and facility management or project management for tenants and real estate owners. In 2018, CBRE has successfully closed 184 transactions and leased 136 thousand m2 of office space, increased year-on-year turnover by 10 %, successfully opened a new office in Brno and will also be organizing the 5th season of the popular competition CBRE Meeting Room of the Year.
The award-winning renovation project of the shopping centre OC Letňany was one of the pillars of the new strategy devised by CBRE Global Investors, the new shopping centre owner. The strategy included rebranding, redesign and opening of new shops, a promotional campaign as well as a ceremonial reopening, which took place in October 2018. CBRE is responsible for lease negotiations, the tenant mix and property management of OC Letňany. The renovation project had a budget of almost 500 million CZK and thanks to it 45 % of commercial and shared space inside the shopping centre was reconstructed. “We are especially proud of the central food court zone, which offers visitors a wider and healthier food selection and a capacity of 350 seats in a cosy space filled with green plants and natural light. Thanks to this project, over one hundred tenant contracts were signed, more than 11 thousand square meters of commercial space was leased and over 40 new shops opened,” says Róbert Sninčák, Head of Investment Operations CZ, SVK, HU & RO at CBRE GI.
“Over the years, the CIJ Awards have gained quite a reputation and are considered by many the Academy Awards of the Czech real estate world. Therefore, we are truly very proud that CBRE has repeatedly won in many of the award categories. We primarily perceive winning the CIJ Awards as acknowledgment and appreciation of our work, effort and the amazing results our teams have achieved. But, I also have to say that the awards belong to our partners and clients, too. Without their assistance, cooperation and can-do attitude, we would have never had a chance of winning,” says Richard Curran, Managing Director at CBRE.
CBRE won several categories of CIJ Awards Czech Republic in the past. For example - Best Property Management Firm (2016, 2017), Best Property Management Team (2014, 2013, 2012, 2011) or Best Project Management Firm (2017). The team Advisory & Transaction – Office was also triumphant several times in the previous years.
